Hatteras Island Autumn Farmers Market
We are so excited to boast our first (hopefully annual) Hatteras Island Autumn Farmers Market!!
The event will take place on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 from 10AM to 2PM at the Fessenden Center in Buxton. The Fessenden Center is located off of Highway 12 just behind Dillon's Corner.
The market is sponsored by Coastal Harvesters, Inc. For more information on their organization please view their website, www.coastalharvesters.org. I did and found the following mission type statement:
"Coastal Harvesters, Inc. enhances the quality of life on Hatteras Island by providing local growers, harvesters, artists and artisans an opportunity to sell their goods directly to consumers, to educate consumers about local foods and seasonal eating, to encourage and promote the use of local products, and to strengthen community bonds."
What a great time to buy local goodies for your Thanksgiving Day feast. Come out and support these local folks!
